Capsule Geology

A Triassic or younger diorite to quartz diorite stock intrudes the Upper Triassic Stuhini Group volcaniclastics and sediments on the south side of the Unuk River, opposite the mouth of Harrymel Creek.

Minor copper mineralization occurs within the medium grained diorite which is in fault(?) contact with altered Stuhini Group sediments. Minor disseminated chalcopyrite with sporadic malachite staining occurs within epidotized diorite intrusive and gossanous zones along a north-northwest trending lineament. The diorite is partly silicified and hosts abundant pyrite within or near the north- northwest trending lineament or shear zone.

Malachite staining and minor disseminated pyrite occurs within medium grained feldspar porphyry dykes and dioritic dikes which cut both the quartz diorite intrusive and altered sediments.

Southeast of the plotted Fred occurrence, orange iron with possible carbonate and quartz veins cut intermediate volcaniclastics. Colorado Resources best 2016 sample from these veins, assayed up to 7.45 grams per tonne gold, 18.4 grams per tonne silver and 5.32 per cent copper (Sample 1289919, Assessment Report 36656). Sample 1289919 was collected about 300 metres east and significant sample 1289918 was collected about 400 metres southeast of Fred (Table 10 and Figure 10a, Assessment Report 36656).

Work History

In 2016, Colorado Resources Ltd completed a reconnaissance exploration program on their KingPin Property which covered the Fred and 35 other MINFILE occurrences on the property. Work included the collection of 147 rock chip and grab samples and a total of 129 soil samples. At least 13 rock samples were collected by Colorado east and southeast of the Fred occurrence (104B 231).

Refer to Max (MINFILE 104B 013) and Chris (MINFILE 104B 125) for details of a common work history.
